Part of today was spent researching nihongami (traditional Japanese hairstyles) for an art project I'd like to do. I've mostly been concentrating on the ones worn by courtesans, but I've found lots of other pretty styles as well. On one page they have folks completely decked out in costume and elaborate wigs.
